Stratford's changed a lot in the last ten years, and much of that is because it's become much easier to get around. The area is now one of the best-connected places in East London, with quicker and more dependable transport. This has given many people living there new options, yet it's also meant they're rethinking where and how they'd like to live.

Better connections are drawing new buyers in

Because of the transport upgrades, more types of people are looking to buy in Stratford. The Elizabeth line, in particular, has made a huge difference, shortening journeys all over London and making commuting easier. It's very handy going into the middle of London or out towards Essex.

For those getting on the property ladder for the first time and younger professionals, Stratford, with this easy access, is a sensible option. It's comparatively good value when you look at central London, but it gets you to the main places where businesses are quickly. Consequently, demand is remaining high, and places near stations or main roads are usually popular.

It's not just commuters who are enjoying this, though. Families and those who have lived in Stratford for a long time also like the better transport, specifically for schools, work and getting around normally. It's much more flexible to be able to move around so easily, and that wasn't always the case.

Some homeowners are choosing to move on

Stratford is easier to get to because of the better transport, but it's actually making some of the people who already live there consider what they want. If you've been in Stratford a long time, the fact that lots of people now want to live there is a chance for a fresh start.

Because it's much easier to commute from further afield and still get into London, some people are moving to places that are calmer, or have more room, but knowing they can always get back in when they have to. Other people have had their lives or jobs change and therefore don't need to be as close to the city anymore.

And when lots of people want to buy, and that interest isn't going to go away, some homeowners decide to sell a house fast in London and move further from the centre. This lets them use the current market to their advantage, go through an efficient home-selling process, and quickly get on with their future plans.

However, a lot of people are staying and enjoying the benefits of all the improvements, a good mix of things to do nearby, and easy access to anywhere in London.

Stratford's transport has altered the way people see living there. It's become more popular with buyers because of shorter journeys and improved links, and it's given long-term residents more flexibility in deciding what to do.

As Stratford continues to grow and develop, these choices will likely continue to shift. Whether you move in, remain, or move on, how easily you can travel will continue to be a major factor in people's decisions about property in Stratford.
